#### About Wurzelwelt
At Wurzelwelt, we handle every step of the value chain ourselves – from local cultivation to the careful processing of natural products. In our own medicinal herb garden in Zurich, we sow, teach, plant, nurture, and harvest with great intention. Our goal is to share the richness and magic of the plant world with others. It is important to us to work directly with plant raw materials and to preserve their original power in our plant-based products. This allows the immediate effect of the plants to unfold.
#### On the Significance of Smudging
Smudging rituals are as old as humanity itself. Smoke and fire convey a radical directness that we experience immediately in a sensory way. Fire confronts us with the earthly conditions of life and teaches us reverence. In the form of warmth, fire reveals itself as a life-affirming force, while in the form of burning heat, it appears as a life-threatening danger. Smoke, as a result of fire and the reaction of burning matter, is akin to the soul's detachment from the physical. According to alchemical understanding, the volatile essential oils responsible for the aromatic scent of most traditional smudging plants correspond to the soul aspect of a plant. We intuitively grasp these transitional processes from the material to the ethereal when we perform a smudging ritual.
Our smudging blends consist of a selection of different fragrant plants that harmonize with each other and, when burned together, create a unique effect in synergy.
#### Smudging Blend «Artemisia»
The patroness of women, the hunt, and the moon goddess Artemis watches over these powerful mystical plants, whose incredible ethnobotanical history of use stretches far back into our shared past. Wherever Artemisia species (Artemisia sp.) grow, medicinal, magical-ritual, and symbolic meanings can still be found today. In European women's medicine, for moxibustion in Asia, ceremonial contexts in America, or as a shamanic magical herb – Artemisia moves people. Cross-cultural motifs include the themes of protection and the relationship to fire, united in the intensely powerful ritual of smudging.
